The Ask · Free on every plan
They tap it and talk.No app. No account. No password.
Pick one question about their life and send it to someone you love, in your own WhatsApp message. They tap the link and answer out loud, up to a minute of their voice, and it comes back to you kept. The Ask is free on every Henedo plan, with no caps on questions, answers, or playback.
Ana asked:
What did the kitchen smell like on a Sunday when you were small?
Up to 60 seconds.
Your answer is encrypted on this device before it is sent.
The page they open. Nothing to install, nothing to sign into.
One question at a time, four small steps.
01
Pick the question
A deck of 81 questions across eight themes of a life, ramping gently from the sensory to the things worth passing on. Or write your own. One tap sends it.
02
Send it yourself
The question travels inside your own WhatsApp or email message, pre-written for you. Or let Henedo email it, in which case the first email only asks whether they would like to be asked.
03
They tap and talk
The page opens with the question waiting. One button, up to sixty seconds of their voice, and they can listen back before it goes. Writing is always an option too.
04
It comes back kept
Their answer arrives in your Henedo, in their voice, encrypted on their device before it was sent. And when you play it, their page tells them you listened.
The message, already written for you
"Mom, I sent you something. It's one question about your life, and you can just talk your answer out loud. Nothing to install, nothing to sign into. Takes about a minute."
81 questions, written to be answered out loud.
Not interior philosophy. Scenes, days, and moments a person can close their eyes and walk back into. Eight themes cover a whole life, and every thread climbs the same gentle ramp:
1
Sensory
Smells, sounds, rooms, hands
2
Scenes
Specific days, told like scenes
3
Meaning
Why it mattered, what changed
4
Legacy
What they want passed on
Childhood
What was the first sound you heard most mornings as a child, and who was making it?
Childhood
Describe your grandmother's or grandfather's hands. What were they usually doing?
Place & home
What did your street sound like on a summer evening?
Love & partnership
What song takes you straight back to being in love? Hum a few bars if you like.
Family & parenting
What sound meant everyone was home?
Work & craft
Tell me about the first day of your first job. Who showed you what to do?
The first email only asks, and a no is honored forever.
Nobody should be ambushed by a questionnaire. When Henedo emails on your behalf, the first email carries no question at all: it asks whether they would like to be asked, one short question a week. If they say no, that is final. Nothing more is sent to that link, ever.
And the pace protects them too. Only one question can be open at a time, so the next one goes out only after the last has settled. Delicate topics arrive without your name attached, framed simply as "This week's question:", because people speak more freely about heavy things to a neutral page.
The first email
Ana would like to ask you about your life
One short question a week. Or say no thanks, and nothing more will be sent.
Ana has listened 4 times.
The last time was yesterday.
And when you listen, they know their story landed.
This is the part nobody else builds. After they answer, their own page quietly keeps count for them: "Ana has listened 4 times." The receipt flows to the person who gave the story, not to a dashboard. Telling feels different when you can see that someone came back to hear it again.
The answers themselves stay between you. Each one is encrypted on their device before it is sent, and the answer page is built write-only, so the link in a chat history never holds a single recording.
Want to give someone a whole year of being asked?
The gift is $79 once. You pay, they answer at their own pace, and they never see a price. The code arrives by email the same day.
Questions
Everything to knowabout The Ask.
Yes. Free on every Henedo plan, forever, with no cap on people, questions, answers, or playback. Paid plans add other things around it; the asking itself is never one of them.
A phone and the link. No app to install, no account to create, no password to remember. The page opens, the question is there, and one button records up to sixty seconds of their voice. They can listen back before sending, re-record once if they want another take, or write their answer instead.
Then nothing more is sent, and that is final. When Henedo emails on your behalf, the very first email contains no question at all. It asks one thing, whether they would like to be asked, with a Yes button and a No thanks button. A no is honored permanently on that link.
No, and that is deliberate. Only one question can be open with a person at a time; the next goes out only after the last one is answered, skipped, or withdrawn. On auto mode Henedo paces the asking for you, weekly by default and never more than one a day.
Questions that touch money, hard years, regrets, or fears arrive framed as "This week's question:" without your name and photo attached, because people speak more freely about heavy things to a neutral page. Warm questions keep your name on them, which is most of the point. You can switch any question either way before sending.
You. The answer is encrypted on their device before it is sent, and the answer page itself is built write-only, so the link sitting in a chat history holds no recordings for anyone to open later.
Yes, and it is the quiet heart of the whole thing. After they answer, their own page shows a line like "Ana has listened 4 times." Not a read receipt for you, a small certainty for them that their story landed and someone came back to it.
The Ask is one part of Henedo. See everything else it lives beside, or what the paid plans add.
